Windchime Lane Fire

Fire crews from multiple agencies responded to a reported outbuilding on fire Wednesday afternoon, located eight miles northwest of Winston near Windchime Lane. The first units arrived on scene of the fire at 1:53 PM and reported a fully involved shop that had spread to the surrounding vegetation. A quick and aggressive initial attack by firefighters stopped the forward spread of the wildland portion of the fire at a quarter acre of grass and brush. The shop and the contents in it were a total loss.

Firefighters and equipment from the Douglas Forest Protective Association, Lookingglass Rural Fire Department, Winston – Dillard Fire Department, Douglas County Fire District #2, and Tenmile Rural Fire Department all responded to the incident. Fire crews were assisted on scene by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Douglas Electric Cooperative.
