Employment 

 

The Douglas Forest Protective Association employs roughly 125 seasonal employees during the course of fire season.  Jobs range from wildland firefighter (18 years and older), crew foreman, dispatcher, and detection personnel.  The hiring process takes place during the off season, primarily during the spring.  Applications may be downloaded from the link above or obtained at our Roseburg Headquarters Office.  Completed applications can be returned to the Roseburg Headquarter Office.

Wildland Firefighters

 

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

 Able to pass pre – employment “Work Capacity Test”

 No experience required

Fire Detection Camera Operator

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

 Good communication skills

 Basic computer skills

 No experience required

Wildland Fire Dispatchers

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

 Good communication skills

 Basic computer skills
