Employment
The Douglas Forest Protective Association employs roughly 125 seasonal employees during the course of fire season. Jobs range from Wildland Fire Suppression Specialist, dispatcher, and fire detection camera operators. The hiring process takes place during the off season, primarily during the spring.

Wildland Firefighters
At least 18 years of age

Able to pass pre – employment “Work Capacity Test”

Fire Detection Camera Operator
At least 18 years of age

Wildland Fire Dispatchers
