Employment 

The Douglas Forest Protective Association employs roughly 125 seasonal employees during the course of fire season.  Jobs range from Wildland Fire Suppression Specialist, dispatcher, and fire detection camera operators.  The hiring process takes place during the off season, primarily during the spring.  

Current Openings:  Assistant Unit Forester - North Unit (closes 3-29-21 at 5:00 PM)

Now accepting applications for the following seasonal positions:  Wildland Firefighters, Fire Detection Camera Operators, and Wildland Fire Dispatchers.  Applications are available from the link above or from our Headquarters Office, located at 1758 NE Airport Road, Roseburg.  Completed applications can be dropped off at, or mailed to our headquarters office.

Wildland Firefighters

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

 Able to pass pre – employment “Work Capacity Test”

 No experience required

Fire Detection Camera Operator

 

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

 Good communication skills

 Basic computer skills

 No experience required

Wildland Fire Dispatchers

 At least 18 years of age

 Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
