Crews from DFPA, Winston-Dillard Fire Department, Douglas County Fire District #2, and Tenmile Rural Fire Department responded to a report of an outbuilding on fire Sunday evening about 9 miles southwest of Winston, near the Thompson Creek and Rice Creek divide. Crews arrived on scene of the Thompson Creek Fire around 11:00 p.m. and found that the fire had spread to the surrounding vegetation and to an adjacent outbuilding. The Thompson Creek Fire burned about 1/10th of an acre of grass and brush. Two outbuildings were also destroyed by the fire. A preliminary fire investigation indicated that the cause of the Thompson Creek Fire may have been related to the use of a generator.
