A bird in the powerlines sparked a grass fire Thursday afternoon, located about six miles west
of Roseburg. Crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association, Douglas County Fire District #2, and Lookingglass Rural Fire Department were dispatched to the fire near Melrose Heights Lane at approximately 11:45 a.m. The first fire unit to arrive on scene reported that the fire was approximately one acre in size and was moving fast through light, flashy fuels.
