The Douglas Forest Protective Association will increase the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to IFPL II (two) on all private, county, state, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands that are protected by DFPA. The increase to IFPL II will take effect Thursday, October 1st at 12:01 AM.
The IFPL system is a set of fire restriction for industrial operators and other forest workers who are working on forestlands. During IFPL II, the following industrial activities are prohibited between the hours of 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm:
The use of power saws, except at loading sites.
Feller-bunchers with rotary head saws.
Cable Yarding
Blasting
Cutting, grinding, or welding of metal.
In addition, a fire watch of at least two hours is required during IFPL II, once work has completed for the day. Some private landowners or public land management agencies may require a longer fire watch on the lands they own or manage.
