Decrease to Industrial Regulations

Douglas District, Ore.: Due to recent precipitation, increased fuel moisture and relative humidity across lands protected by the Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA), the Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) will decrease to Level 1, effective today, September 3, 2026, at 12:01 p.m. (noon).

This change applies to all lands protected by DFPA within regulated use areas DG 1, DG 2, UA 1 and UA 2, as well as all forestland within one eighth mile of those areas, including lands managed by the Roseburg District Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

What Does IFPL 1 Mean for Industry?

Under Industrial Fire Precaution Level 1, the use of fire or power-driven machinery in any operation area is unlawful unless conducted in compliance with:

All applicable fire prevention requirements of ORS Chapter 477 and OAR Chapter 629, Divisions 41 through 43.

Public Use Restrictions

The Public Use Restrictions for lands protected by DFPA will remain at LOW. There is no change to the current Public Use Restrictions.

Debris burning, including debris piles and burn barrels, remains PROHIBITED at all times.

The recent reduction in Industrial and Public restrictions reflects current conditions across the district while continuing to require appropriate fire prevention measures for industrial and public operations. If conditions become more hazardous, restrictions may increase. Fire season remains in effect, so Know Before You Go and follow restrictions that are in place.
