The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) wishes all of this year's graduates the very best as you celebrate this incredible milestone and begin your next chapter.
As you enjoy your well-deserved celebrations with family and friends, please remember to keep fire safety in mind. A little caution goes a long way in helping protect our communities, forests, and natural resources during fire season.
Fire Safety Reminders:
Dispose of smoking materials properly
Follow all local fire restrictions
Do not park vehicles in dry grass or vegetation
Open fires, including celebratory bonfires, are not allowed on lands protected by DFPA during fire season
When traveling on improved forest roads, carry required fire tools: a shovel, an axe, and a fire extinguisher with a minimum capacity of 2.5 pounds
Report smoke or fire immediately
As you celebrate this important milestone, remember: don't let one bad decision follow you into your future. Violations of fire season restrictions may result in a citation that can remain on your record for up to five years.
Celebrate responsibly, stay safe, and make memories that last a lifetime.
Congratulations, Class of 2026! We're proud of your accomplishments and excited to see what comes next.
The future is yours to ignite. Just make sure it's not the forest.
