Crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association and North Douglas County Fire & EMS responded to three fires Thursday morning, located between Yoncalla and Drain along Eagle Valley Road. Firefighters arrived on scene of the first two fires shortly after 11:00 AM which were located near the intersection of Coffee Crossing Lane and Eagle Valley Road. Both fires were quickly contained. While working on the first two fires, a third fire was reported about a mile north of that location, near the Drain Curves. Crews were also able to quickly contain this fire.
The three Coffee Crossing Fires burned a combined total of a quarter acre of wildland fuels. Firefighters remained on scene of the fires until 1:30 PM, mopping up hot spots and securing control lines. The cause of the fires are currently under investigation.
