The Douglas Forest Protective Association employs roughly 165 seasonal
firefighters during the course of fire season. Jobs range from Wildland
Firefighter Specialist (18
years and older), County Crewperson (16-17 Year Olds), Crew Foreman, Dispatchers
and Lookouts. The hiring process takes place during the off season, primarily
